I’m planning some new business plans in the NFT / Metaverse market.
Firstly I researched the automobile companies activities for this market, and left notes.
I found that many major automotive manufacturers had already announced or run the projects related to NFT and Metaverse. (Surprisingly, Toyota has not done so yet.)
However, in my impressions, almost all companies just sell something (such-like 3D models of their car, sketches and so on.) as NFT to the NFT markets.
On the other hand, Hyundai, one of the largest automotive manufacturer in Korea, launches the concept toward the metaverse very clearly.

1: “Metamobility” concept is announced in CES 2022
They announced “Metamobility” concept, for exploreing the possibilities of diverse mobilities such as automobiles and UAM becoming smart access devices to the metaverse platform.
2: Joining in Roblox metaverse space
They announced that they would be joining Roblox, an online game platform and game creation system, in 2021.

BMW Brazil : BMW car NFT collaborated with the artist, Gabriel Wickbold
BMW announced that they release the above program for supporting young and energetic artists.
McLaren : Building the platform with TEZOS for McLaren fans.
They have many fans in the motorsports category, I am guessing this activity is planned for such fans.

Nissan Canada : Nissan GT-R NFT
Nissan Canada auctioned off a 1 of 1 GT-R NFT bundled with a 220k USD and it sold for 2.3mUSD.

Porsche : Car design sketch NFT with real its sketch to SuperRare
They conducted this unique activity in the beginning August 2021.
Currently this sketch is selling for 1.5 ETH.

Their NFTs will be categorised into 4 “C” segments: Collectables, Community & diversity, Collaborative art, and CaaP (Car-as-a-Platform).
It appears that NFTs categorized as “CaaP” are enabled to use in actual cars as its AI navigation systems.
Alpine : Alpine concept car NFT to Opensea
This is the attempt to sell their brand concept car as NFT. I think this is good trial for improving their designers’ motivation because concept cars are rarely realizing to sell in the real market.

One of the traditional and luxury automotive manufacturer in the world also join in the NFT trend.
They create the art work with their brand designers to express their major brand concept ,”Black Budge”, in the NFT art. It is not for sale.

VW Malaysia : NFT art inspired VW car design to Pentas
This NFT is just art work, it is inspired by VW car design (like vehicle front faces, body shapes etc..) .
Frankly, I couldn’t understand what they want to express through this art work. (Please watch them, and tell me what you inspire from the art works haha.)

Audi China : NFT collection using the xNFT Protocol
They try to sell some NFTs in China, through the new protocol called “xNFT”.
However, it is just the planning phase, then I check their next releases.

As far as I could research, these above OEMs are trying to join the NFT or Metaverse market.
Of course, there are a lot of “OEM unofficial” car-related NFT projects, but I would like the automobile OEM to boost NFT officially.
